I am developing a research proposal looking at intimate partner violence (IPV) among farmworker families. In particular, I am intererested in examining at the ways in which work-related stress, alcohol use, structural oppression, etc., may contribute to IPV. Are there farmworker-serving organizations or programs that focus on intimate partner/ domestic violence? Also, are there recent reports or articles on this topic that I should know about?

In our Western N.Y. area we have Farmworker Legal Services of New York, Inc., 1187 Culver Road, Rochester, N.Y. 14609. Contact person: Cheryl Gee, cgee@...; 585-325-3050. They have a Domestic Violence component to their services. Also, Pathstone, Inc. (formerly, Rural Opportunities, Inc.) oversees our local Domestic Violence Shelter.
