Guest guest
Hi group, I am glad to hear from Tracie and sorry to hear that you are having such a time a the moment. But I hope you will get things under control soon. Last Friday, my pulumunary (sarcoid) doctor left Emory. I have been going to him since 2004. I came back from visiting my grandfather and mother after two months in NC only to find a letter in the mail saying that he was leaving at the end of Aug. Luckily I had an appointment with him on that last day he was supposed to leave. I felt very saddened that I was losing such a great doctor again. He seemed to be very concerned about my well'being and very knowledgeable about the sarcoids. He did everything that he could and I could call him and he would call me back as soon as possible to get whatever I needed. He did tell me that there are some other doctors at Emory that treat Sarcoid patients so that is a little bit of a plus. Emory seems to have some very good drs from my experience so I hope the next one I get will be just as caring and capable as all the previous. As for my diabetes that I was diagnosed a couple of months back, I think that I am getting it under control. I was taking metformin but through diet and exercise I have managed to stop the meds for diabetes. I have still been monitoring it to make sure but so far it seems to be doing well. That is a plus for me! I am even begining to lose weight which i haven';t done in almost two years with exercise. So I think the diet, exercise and or course no prednisone is doing the job. I will continue to be encouraged as i am feeling better that I have felt in a while. I can do the exercise longer and I started working out 5 days a week. at least 30 minutes on the treadmill a day. or at least 3 times a week. I still have a ways to go but I am encouraged and I am going to keep doing whatever it takes to feel and look better. I hope you all stay encouraged. I pray for you all a few moments a day without any pain as I so often used to wish for. But hopefully it will become weeks without pain or just feelng tired and not up to par. Good health should not be taken for granted. I hope and pray that this feeling continues for a while to have some normalicy. I don't write too often but I read or at least try to read the post daily so keep writing. It is good to hear from the other members each day. Shauna in Atl.
