Hello.

I am a regular lurker, but rarely post. I appreciate all the info I glean every

day from this group. Anyway, I had open RNY January of 2001 and am down about

140 lbs from a starting weight of 375. I have been diligent about my iron

supplements and vitamins, but not too much with the calcium until reading here

and seeing others suggestions/problems regarding calcium intake. After I

started taking as much calcium as I should be I noticed that I was having

arthritis symptoms in my hips. Started to pain me like a tooth ache, especially

driving and riding in the car and keeping me up at night tossing and turning

because of the pain. If I go off of the calcium a few days, pain is GONE.

Start back the calcium, back it comes the next day!!!! Anyone else experience

problems with calcium supps? My Dexi was good 2 years out, but I don't know the

numbers. Asked the nutritionist in my doctor's office, and she says there is NO

connection; keep taking the calcium. Haven't mention it to doctors yet; thought

I would ask here and see if anyone else has problems like this. I am convinced

there is a connection; have tried it on and off numerous times with the same

results.

TIA
