The first time I got my braces off, I remember my teeth looking

REALLY BIG and white! I don't actually have large teeth, but to not

have anything on them made them seem huge. It bothered me at first

because I thought they looked too big, but of course I got used to it

and they looked totally fine/good and normal- obviously better than

ugly metal brackets! I think your lips don't stick out as much either

as they are again against your teeth rather than held out by the

braces. Depending on your mouth/lips that can affect your appearance

a little. I have full lips to begin with, so I can't wait for my

braces to be off so that my lips won't stick out so much anymore.

Unless you are somebody that prefers the braces " look " , getting them

off is always an improvement! It is an adjustment though to get used

to your appearance without them- for you, but not so much for other

people. I remember my mouth feeling rather large as well- large and

empty. And I have a very small mouth (usually everyone has to used

children's sized equipment on me). The only people that will take

notice are those that have been near you and aware of/involved in

your whole " braces-process " . Anyway, I can't wait to get mine

off!!! When are yours coming off? Katja

I've gotten some sort of attachment to the braces... i want the

braces off, but i've told my ortho i want teeth perfect before the

braces come off... my ortho tells me that they should be off in

about 6-8 more months...

i'm not complaining... i respect the process

I looked different when my braces went on so I assume I will look a bit

different when they come off.
