Guest guest
Hello, everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself and toss a few questions out. To start, I have a type III malocclusion, but my jaw doesn't stick out quite as far as it does in some people. I had braces when I was around 12 years old, but I'd say 5 years ago my bite was bad again. So, I'll be having orthognathic surgery to fix my problem. Aside from the functional aspects, my lower jaw looked pretty bad even when the teeth were meeting properly, and I've always had jaw pains, clicking, and a mild lisp. I did have some cosmetic jaw work done and my chin done a few years ago to make it look less strong (before my bite got reverted again). Anyway, I have found that my insurance (PHCS) does cover orthognathic surgery, luckily. yaaaay! My orthodontist has a person he recommends, who is out of network, which means only 60% coverage instead of 80%. So I've been trying to find someone in network who is good. On top of it, if I have the procedure done in an Advocate Health Care hospital, they waive some of the fees since I work for them. Does anyone know any good Chicago doctors? Even in my network there are dozens! I'll put some pics up sometime, but I don't have any from way back prior to my 1st braces or the surgeries I've had so far. Nice to meet you all!
