Guest guest
i understand i have the option to take the hepatitis shot at their cost - should i do this? do i want to do this? i thought i had heard they were painful? am i more at risk, less? No, they're not painful.....just a little sore the next day or so just like any other vaccine. If they pay for it, I'd take it. If you have any patient contact at all (besides talking to them, of course!), I'd recommend it. It's one of the few diseases we health care providers can actually protect ourselves from easily with the vaccine. Remember it's only for Hep B...not A or C. You still need to use universal precautions in order to protect yourself. Hope that helps, Sharon in Indy
