Guest guest
Hi there, In addition to having upper jaw surgery I'm also having two wisdom teeth and two bicuspids removed. Has any one else had this too? Specifically I'm wondering about the biscuspids. As far as I understand, where they remove these two teeth is where they will be making the incisions into the jaw. My ortho explained to me that the surgeon will try to close the gap as much as possible to fill the space that is left from the removed bicuspids. But he also told me that there will still be a gap left that he will then have to close with braces. But then there's another BUT, chances are that I will always have a little gap left so I will need bonding. What I want to know is if A) anyone has had their bicuspids removed during surgery and if so, how BIG a gap is it after surgery and B)did you eventually have to get bonding done once you removed your braces? I know this is no biggie in the grand scale of things but I'm quite worried about walking around with a big gap on either side of my mouth this summer. I'm also looking at my bicuspids every day now and thinking, poor fellas, they never did any one any harm. I am going to miss having them:-( Any shared experiences will be greatly appreciated.
