Guest guest
Most anybody who has a picture of a mouth wired shut has hooks... Not sure about those who had arch bars, and one fellow in the UK had much larger wires or bars that may have supplemented the hooks. But most wired mouths have them. Some banded ones do, too. Sometimes the surgeon can indeed use those little posts that are made for elastics, too. Sometimes they install larger hooks just for the wires. I had nothing installed pre-op, and was neither wired nor banded at first. When my surgeon put on the bands, he added a couple of bits of big, twisty wire. By then, though, there was so much other stuff in there with the splint and all that I hardly noticed them. And some folks never have hooks. Some folks have hooks throughout. As in most other things, it all depends on you and your surgeon. Cammie > > I swear I saw in one of the photo albums a photo of someone with > hooks on but now I can't remember where.
