Guest guest
It is my understanding that medicare doesn't pre-approve a surgery. The process is the doc does what he thinks is necessary and then medicare pays if it meets their criteria. Then if you have a supplemental insurance it pays if medicare pays. Since doctors don't work for free they will not perform procedures that medicare will not cover and believe me they know what will be covered. From your statistics and comorbidities, I am fairly certain medicare would pay for your surgery. --- Eysonjesus@... wrote: > Judie, > > What were your comorbids? Guest guest
Doreen, Absolutly! Medicare will cover you as long as your pcp writes and says you need it and why and lists all the co morbs. Most of the time its the surgeon who writes the letter. There is NO pre approval for you to go thru. You just see the surgeon, get the surgery and submit the bill (the doc does that) You have plenty of co morbs. I had mild hypertension, arthritis in weight bearing joints, incontinence high cholesterol and swollen feet. Good luck and anytime you need to talk, ask questions etc be sure and let me know. Id be glad to help anyway I can. Judie
