Guest guest
Hi, Hanger is a decent helmet, but the orthos who use it have very different levels of experience. You should check out this ortho and see how much experience they have banding babies, and what kind of results they expect. Hanger (and Starband too) provide the band to orthos who may specialize in banding, or may do it along with many other types of orthotics. Some will be very good with banding, and others not so much. If you have a prescription for a cranial band you don't need to go to hanger. You can see what your other options are too based on where you live. We were referred to a starband ortho and I just went with it - luckily for us he was good. Also our band was covered 100%. But if I had been smarter at the time I would have at least checked out the ortho before proceeding. It is best to band by 6 mo, but not essential. I'm not sure why you would need so many appointments, unless it is to figure out how to address the hearing aids. We were referred to the ortho and got the scan done at the first appt. Then we went back 2 weeks later to get the band and have it adjusted. -christine sydney, 3 yrs, starband grad > > > > > > > > > > Does anyone have a baby who wears hearing aids AND the helmet?
