Guest guest
I was just curious...does a SLD occur becasue of something the patient does or it is strictly mechanical. Does eating too much cause it. I have been reading so much about it and just wondered.
Guest guest
SLD are strictly mechanical failures of the surgery. Nothing that the patient does causes this to happen. You can out eat the surgery by eating sugar, grazing, etc.. but cant disrupt the staple line due to overeating. I had a complete staple line disruption at 4 months post op.. nothing I did caused this to happen.. Mechanical failures just sometimes occur Peachy hugs,
Guest guest
I forgot to mention that you can disrupt the staple line by overeating too soon after surgery. However, most people dont want that much food , if any , immediately post op. I also forgot to mention that you can outeat the surgery too, by eating and drinking at the same time. If you are eating, and drinking at the same time, you are washing things through your pouch and you can eat more and more amounts, which will result in weight gain.
