girls, go download irfanview.

www.irfanview.com

it is freeware. That means it's free.

install the program and the plugins from the download sites. tell it

to associate .jpg, .bmp, and all the other picture type files.

Then open your picture you want to shrink. Irfanview should open

it. In the menu bar you will see " Image " . Click on that, then you

will see " resize/resample " , click that. It opens a box with a half a

million different ways to resize. Depending on the original size of

your picture, decide how small you want it. 100-300kb is more than

enough for us to see properly. 640x480 works too, but it still can

leave the picture too large to insert more than a couple in one email

to yahoo group. So after you resize it, save it. you can use the

file menu to save as, or simply push the *S* on your keyboard. Make

sure the file is going into the folder you wish it to go in, that the

file type is .jpg and the slider is at 100%. Then rename or

whatever, and save the file. You can then check the size of the file

to find out if it's small enough. If not, open it and resize a

little more (use the percentages option - such as reduce by 40% or 20%, etc.).

Seriously, you don't need an expensive program to do this, and this

one comes with no catches like 30 day free trial or anything like

that. It's really, and truly, forever... free to you to use as you wish.

hope that helps!
