Guest guest
During the next 18 months, the Rural Women's Health Project will be collaborating with the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Florida Legal Services to better understand violence within the farmworker community and to develop informational materials in the /fotonovela/ format to link victims to legal and shelter services through the state's 800 assistance line. We would be pleased to keep you informed of the findings. Additionally, the RWHP has worked on intimate partner violence issues with farmworker women and youth in order to develop materials that can be used for outreach and for teaching providers about the community's perspective on violence issues. Those materials are available. Also, we have worked with the Migrant Clinicians Network assisting them in describing the impact of male facilitated violence prevention education. Keep your eyes on the the MCN website for announcements of the publication of these articles. Rural Women's Health Project Gainesville, FL 352-372-1095 www.rwhp.org rwhp@... Estimados Compañeros/as: I am developing a research proposal looking at intimate partner violence (IPV) among farmworker families. In particular, I am intererested in examining at the ways in which work-related stress, alcohol use, structural oppression, etc., may contribute to IPV. Are there farmworker-serving organizations or programs that focus on intimate partner/ domestic violence? Also, are there recent reports or articles on this topic that I should know about? Many thanks for your help. Saludos Cordiales, R.
