Guest guest
Debbie I haven't been diagnosed with CD or Celiac, but my upper GI reacts very, very badly (severe upper adbominal pain, severe nausea, my digestion is out of kilter for days...) to any strong spices like chili powder -- my upper Gi reacts to all other spices, in fact. The hotter the spice, the worse the reaction. I can still use a few mild spices in a limited way. Eating bland is one of the first cautions my gastroenterologist gave me when he told me I had Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. Experts (medical community) say that if you're dealing with digestive disorders you should limit the hot or strong seasonings and eat bland. If your chili powder had illegals in it, then that might explain your reaction -- it wasn't to the chili powder. But I would probably wait a while before trying a legal chili powder again [grin]. I didn't purposely eat it butI wonder if it bothers CD and Celiac? (Sorry, nowhere else to ask)Debbie 40 cd
