Guest guest
Thanks Tita- Monthly regularity definately suxs! Only bad thing about my WLS! I also had a great day on Thursday when I went to a new allergist to try and get more control over my asthma. Under surgeries I of course listed WLS first and she looked at me and asked why would you have that done? You look good. You look like your of normal weight. I wanted to jump off the table and kiss her! ! ! ! ! I told her that it was because I had already lost 48lbs.! She just said Oh! I then proceeded to show her my bat wings! I told her see, I told you I've lost weight! She was duly impressed! And I was jumping for joy! Joyce B 268/ 218/ 150 1/15/
Guest guest
Joyce, You sound like me.. but I knew why I only had them 4X a year. I've got Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and one of the side effects has been being very irregular. Rather in my case, regular'ish, just only 4 times a year (then at great length! Ick!) My doc had kept me off meds for it, suggesting in my case that it's best treated by following a pretty strict Adkins diet, and when I was able to follow that routine, yes, things were more frequent and regular. Now, post surg. and following our high protien, low carb (Sounds like Adkins to me!) and losing the weight, to my semi-dismay lol I find I'm becoming more 'normal', ie: regular. I gotta say.. this monthly business.. bites! lol I rather enjoyed not having to worry about it but 4 times a year. But.. this is my only 'down side' from my surgery and man... I'll take it!! It's a sign my body is becoming healthier. On a different subject....I had a major pick me up yesterday! I was in the middle of a very serious discussion with my boss yesterday and suddenly she stopped talking and just stared at me. " My God you look good! I just suddenly can see how much your body has changed and the weight you've lost really shows!! " Her surprise and the way it sort of blurted out of her was so unplanned that it could be nothing but honest... Needless to say.. My day was pretty much made at that point!! A major goal for me! 39 Years Young LAP-RNY 12/31/03 Wayne English, MD Ft Lauderdale, FL Since it was brought up. . . . . . I have a question to all the females here. Has anyone thought they were in the middle of menopause before their surgery and then found out everything was starting all over again? I am going through this. I was only menstruating about 4X a year before I had my surgery and being that I am 49, I figured no problem, menopause, and I was quite happy about it. That was then, this is now. I am 3 months out and for the last 2 months, just like clockwork, flowing like the Mississippi, it's back. I am not a happy camper. I know that alot of health issues are resolved after having surgery, but I never even thought about this! Has anybody else had this happen?
