Guest guest Posted February 11, 2010 Report Share Posted February 11, 2010 I've never seen Medjool dates other than loose in the produce department, which seems like it would be pretty gooey if they were dowsed in syrup there, as opposed to the packages where they can do anything they want. Marilyn, I totally agree with you about sweetening something already so sweet. When I first was on the hypoglycemia diet, I was at my mother's one day and she had proudly fixed me some prunes. She stewed them in a great deal of honey " to make them nice and sweet for you " . Same thing. I couldn't believe anyone would do that. I did eat a couple to be polite but they were sweet enough to choke a hippo. I've never been a candy eater so it was really unbelievable to me.
