Guest guest
I went to see the head dietician that has taken over the nutritional support for the bariatric program at the hospital I had my surgery at 18 months ago in Nashville. (Centennial Medical Center) I wanted to discuss some of my vitamin/mineral woes so I could get some advice from her + I knew they had instituted some dramatic changes to improve the program and I wanted to learn more. Most of the changes she is instituting in the hospital's program are things I learned from this group over the past year and a half, i.e. take calcium citrate, get a bone scan prior to surgery to set a baseline, protein shakes are good as supplements, chewable vitamins are best, etc.. I was pleased to know that I had learned a lot on my own and was already on the right track for the most part. I seem to be having some absorption problems and we were discussing what sort of products would work best. She starts telling me that I should check out a website operated by a lady that seemed to know what she was talking about when it came to bariatric vitamin products. I asked what site it was and she said " its operated by the VITALADY. " I just died laughing and said I was way ahead of her. Michele, I just thought you ought to know you are getting a " reputation " all the way across the country. R in Nashville P.S. I just saw an infomercial on my Comcast Cable system for bariatric surgery. Yep, it was in infomercial complete with where to call for more information, etc. It just struck me as strange but I guess there are infomercials for everything else... why not.
