1. Are you male or female? female

2. Starting Weight? 322

3. Weight now? 238.5

4. Surgery type and date? 12-7-01 Lap Proximal RNY

5. Amount bypassed if you know? don't know

6. Length of common channel if you know? don't know.

7. Pros of your surgery? No longer on Diabetic Medications, Blood

sugar is in normal range, Feet don't hurt, can fit in a booth, can

ride roller coasters, don't have to ask for seat belt extensions on

airplane.

8. Cons of your surgery? I feel like a failure because I stopped

loosing after 7 months out. But I am still thankful that I am now

healthier

9. Greatest joy: Being able to participate in activities rather than

just watching.

10. greatest challenge drinking my water and consistant exercise.

Have bad back with sciatica with both legs and often can not do

exercise due to pain.

11. Your age at time of surgery? 45

12. Any advice to others? (about 5 lines if you can manage)

Get as much information about the surgery, positves and negatives so

that you are better prepared to handle things when they come up.

Research your Doctor. I had a wonderful one but have heard of horror

stories from others.

13. Your surgery doc? Dr. Ellner, San Diego

14. Your regimen of food and exercise?

Breakfast: 1 Egg

Snack: Protein Shake

Lunch: ½ Meat sandwich and diet coke

Snack: Protein Shake

Dinner: Meat 2 oz and veggie (green) or salad

Sometimes have SF Jello or Protein shake in evening

Exercise: need to improve. Back exercises 15 min per day, Precor 3x

a week 15 min.

15. Which of these adjuncts do you use? Prayer! I am trying to

Journal by not very consistant with it.

16. What is your daily vitamin and mineral supplementation?

B-12 sublingual daily

3 500mg Calcium Citrate

1000 mg Vit C (take with the iron)

400 mg Dry E

3 kids chewable vitamins

3 500mg glucosamine and Chondroitin

2 Carbonyl Iron (brand name – get from Vitalady)
