I got Thrush after a different surgery years ago. It's from the antibiotics, and I got it in my mouth. I used swish and swallow just once. Tasted terrible but worked. I THINK it's a yeast infection? Guest guest
It's Candida (fungus) in the mouth characterized by thick white patches on the tongue. This could happen during antibiotic therapy, which kills off the normal flora. Not to be gross but it's kind of like a yeast infection in the mouth. I wasn't even on antibiotics and I got it. I read that thrush is now the most common nosocomial infection (hospital aquired), along with urinary tract infections (related to the foley catheter). I did get antibiotics during surgery, though. That's probably what did it. Beth Mia wrote: THRUSH???????? Can someone tell me exactly what is THRUSH? what are the symtoms, how do you get it, where do you get it and why do you get it?...
