Mon,

I am 102 days post op. I can eat two or three Ritz & PB, or triscuts

with no problems, as long as I chew them to mush. As for bread, when

I have bread, it's usually no more than half a slice or bun.

Sometimes I don't finish that for the very reason Barb explains, it

just sort of sits there for a while. Tortillas, to me, are more like

a bread. I'll eat all of the stuffing from a grilled burrito before I

munch " some " of the tortilla. I am greatful that I can tolerate

popcorn, in small qty (no more than two cups) at a sitting.

Generally, all that I've heard from nutrionists and losers is if your

going to eat bread, have it toasted and chew it well. I can eat about

a fourth of a bagel without problems, but if I eat more than that,

again, it just sits in the pouch. When it comes to bread, I go for

the whole grain or wheat and stay away from the enriched white buns

and bread. Who needs all the carbs?? Then again, it's your choice,

sometimes you need to try things to see if they do or do not agree

with you. Good Luck!

The reason has to do with the fact the bread takes a lot longer to break down

and it sits in the pouch or stomach for quite a while.
