Very Glad that you have finally been approved for SSD. It is so unfortunate that those who suffer with this illness have to fight so hard for assistance. Take care & try to stay well.MattSubject: SSDTo: Neurosarcoidosis Date: Saturday, October 17, 2009, 8:41 PM

Hey Everyone,

I finally was approved for SSD this month. They are back dating only

back a year but being one of the lucky ones with a private disability

policy, I cannot complain. The only thing I don't like is that I will

have just over 12 months to wait until I can get Medicare. That is one

of the only reasons I wanted the SSD; my husband works at the local

shipyard and has been laid off before. Until there is healthcare

reform, I want to be sure I am covered and COBRA only lasts so long.

I still don't have a definite diagnosis and am currently not being

treated right now so I have no real life....but the grand children keep

me motivated. I was really sick about a month ago with bronchitis and I

could barely walk. Very scary but things are better now. The

neuropathy and numbness in my feet and legs keeps me close to home but I

remind myself that I am blessed to have a roof over my head and things

could be a lot worse.

I have been lurking a lot and I hope everyone is doing as well as

possible.

Will check in again soon.

Terri G.
