Guest guest
I previously posted and got no responses so I'm trying one more time... For those of you doing repositioning, How do you avoid back sleeping at night? My little one is still rolling on his back at night depite my sleep positioner. Are there specific techniques you are using or specific things you place in the crib that have been successful for you? If so, where do I purchas? Thank you for your ideas and suggestions. Guest guest
My son sleeps with a wedge under his sheets. I got it at babies r us for like 15 bucks. Its harder for him to roll on his back and I think it makes it easier to breathe with the helmet on.Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: "loriines" Date: Mon, 20 Jul 2009 22:54:31 -0000<Plagiocephaly >Subject: How do your plagio kids sleep I previously posted and got no responses so I'm trying one more time... Guest guest
When I was doing repo, I would go into E's room every hour until I went to bed and either move his head to the other side or make sure it was still on the correct side. I didn't try to make him sleep on his side--being on his back wasn't the problem since he has plagiocephaly rather than brachio--I just had to keep him off the left side of his head. I put something under the legs of the crib on one side to make it harder for him to turn his head " uphill " . I may have had a blanket under the matress as well to make it hard. After a week or so of doing this, he did start to sleep with his head turned to his right side so I didn't check as often--and when I did, I didn't have to move him; he was doing it " right " . We repod for 2 months before getting a helmet on May 21--- Betsy I previously posted and got no responses so I'm trying one more time... Guest guest
Hi I have been following your group for a month or so. I have been repositioning my daughter using two 5-pound sacks of rice covered with towels. It was the recommendation of the cranial surgeon. Actually he recommended two TEN pound sacks but I felt that 5 lbs was adequate since she is swaddled and can't kick them out of the way. The rice is heavy enough to prevent rolling back onto her flat spot. If she was not swaddled I think I would go with the bigger bags. The drawback is that she does not sleep as well nowadays. She gets up three times instead of once per night. The sack in her back is positioned behind her whole body, while the sack in the front is slightly lower so that it doesn't block her face (I don't want her to rebreath her exhaled air if possible). I replicated the setup at daycare and she is doing naps that way too.LillianFrom: "loriines" Date: Mon, 20 Jul 2009 22:54:31 -0000<Plagiocephaly >Subject: How do your plagio kids sleep I previously posted and got no responses so I'm trying one more time... Guest guest
hi, the rice thing could work. i never heard of that people just always say dont put anything in the crib so i never thought of that. However, we have a video monitor and everytime we saw that his head was turned the other way me or the hubby would go on his room and gently turn it the other way. after a while he would just do it. another smart thing that i did was put his soft fuzzy blanket on the side he needed to turn his head and he would do it on his own and sleep like that all night!!!! he has been using this really soft blanket ever since birth and so i would hold it on the side he needed to turn his head and he just would. PRESTO! LOL. thats what worked for me. i think you gotta kindsa use your mommy instinct and do what works for you and baby! good luck!!!! , mom to 3 year old, and 8 months old whos been wearing STARband for almost 3 months and has seen amazing results! > > I previously posted and got no responses so I'm trying one more time... > > For those of you doing repositioning, How do you avoid back sleeping at night?
