Guest guest
At the beginning of SCD, it is possible to have set backs. This does not mean the diet is not working, just that it happens along the way. One is known as the " three month flare " . It is very scary to see this happen. It happened to me at about 2-3 months and I freaked. The important thing is to hang in there. It means there are still some bad bugs hanging around and if you quit and feed them now, it's all over. You are stronger than they are. Starve those suckers out. It is good to go back to intro foods. Lots of bone broth soups and easy to digest soft foods. When I have felt yukky I go back to soups, SCD yogurt (I tolerate it), soft cooked veggies. I think things will turn around again. Hang in there. Also, I am definitely not as sick as many of you here, so I'm feeling a little like I'm being a cry baby... > > My background: > I have lymphocytic microscopic colitis and have been on SCD for 2 months. When I first started SCD and was on the intro diet I also had to do a cleanse for a colonoscopy so don't know if that affected my results at the time. I saw some improvement, but not a lot during intro (less frequency). After the colonoscopy, I continued SCD, limiting honey, fruit and high carb veggies and had amazing results. There was a 1 1/2 week period where I would consider that I was almost " normal " , going one time a day/formed BM. > > In the last month I've had a couple setbacks, but nothing really bad where I was able to get back to " normal " just by cutting back on honey, fruits, etc. again. However, a flare started about a week ago that has continued to get worse to the point of me losing count how many times a day I'm going and back to water D. I started the intro diet again on Sunday and can say that so far today I've only gone two times, but it is still water. > > Sorry this is so long, I'd appreciate any thoughts/advice. > > Pegi >
Guest guest
A few people have suggested a vitamix juicer. I have the jack lalanne power juicer and it does a fantastic job. You can get it at some department stores. I got mine at macy's or dillard's. Make sure you get a quality one. The others I've had in the past were terrible compared to the power juicer. Guest guest
Oh yeah. I diluted everything by 100% the first year on the diet or I reacted. So 1 cup of oj was diluted with 1 cup of water. Misty
