Guest guest
Hi Michele, I am almost 4 weeks post op and I have a numb tongue still, 1/2 of my tongue since there's a lingual nerve on each side. My OS says it got stretched during surgery and could take 6 months to heal. At first mine felt huge and I was very aware of it. Now it doesn't bother me as much and doesn't feel huge, just numb. I read that most people regain feeling, so I'm hopeful. About pain, I didn't have pain until the past few weeks and more the last few days. My jaw has a dull ache that radiates into my ear on one side. I'm going to ask the doctor tomorrow when I see him. That's interesting about fluid, I will ask about that-maybe the same thing going on. We'll have to keep in touch about the numb tongue to see how each other progress. It was hard for me to find others with the same injury as most people get the lip and chin nerve damage, lingual nerve damage is less likely. Sherri > Hi everyone. The first week was a piece of cake.
