Guest guest
Hi. My name is and I am 18, will be 19 right around (maybe the day after fun fun) surgery. I have posted a few times but mainly just lurked and browsed over the past year. I am having my top jaw split in three sections to move it up and back, and my lower jaw moved foward a bit, and my chin moved foward a bit. I have an open/over bite right now and an extremely gummy smile and rounded out profile. I cannot wait for this surgery to finally bite normal and not be self conscious about my bite or eating in front of people or how i look anymore. I got my braces on Dec. 7th, 2004 (4 months ago). I went to the ortho today and he took new molds. He said everything is in alignment except for one molar that is too low and is making my molds rock around a little. I have to come back in one week and he said he would change my wires to fix the tooth. He also mentioned putting surgical wires on...isnt that too early for a hopefully beginning of june surgery though???? Maybe i misheard him... In the meantime my ortho will sit down with my surgeon to discuss the molds and surgery. Should i call my surgeon for anything right now or wait and see what my ortho says next week. I am afraid that i might not get my surgery when i want it because my surgeon only does them 2 tuesdays a month (hospital regulations i guess). And so I am highly hoping for June 7th or 14th(but my bday is the 15th so hopefully the 7th) THis is concerning me because it is only 8 weeks away and i am afraid the hospital will get booked soon. Anyways..not really much to ask..just wanted to update/introduce myself again. I will try to get pics up eventually. ohhh....also... I am a dancer and have in my mind that my face is holding me back from being a good dancer because of expression. Is it a bad thing to be having such high expectations that after my surgery i wont be a quiet shy dancer anymore and have good expressions when i dance?? Did you guys become more expressive in general(smiling, etc) or much less quiet and reserved after surgery??? Thanks!
