had red spots, too, but the pressure sore was very obviously

different than just redness. It was a black/dark purple area

surrounded by a deep red/maroon circle and was actually indented. I

think you are smart to take them off periodically and check for

problems. I left the shoes on for about 20 hours without taking

them off (was afraid of putting them back on...yes, foolish in

hindsight). Her feet looked just fine the evening before when I put

on the shoes.

screamed for the first 12 hours unless she was nursing or

sleeping and then calmed down. Her behavior was fairly normal, just

a little fussy after that first 12 hours so I had no idea a terrible

sore was developing. had redness on her heels, as well, but

this was not bad and is pretty normal, I think. You cannot miss a

pressure sore. I cried when I saw it...it was horrible. 's

feet were a bit beat up from the casts, too, so I understand what

you mean about not knowing what to look for. 's big toes are

abnormally curved so I think this is why she developed the sore on

her toe. Good luck with the shoes!
