Guest guest
had red spots, too, but the pressure sore was very obviously different than just redness. It was a black/dark purple area surrounded by a deep red/maroon circle and was actually indented. I think you are smart to take them off periodically and check for problems. I left the shoes on for about 20 hours without taking them off (was afraid of putting them back on...yes, foolish in hindsight). Her feet looked just fine the evening before when I put on the shoes. screamed for the first 12 hours unless she was nursing or sleeping and then calmed down. Her behavior was fairly normal, just a little fussy after that first 12 hours so I had no idea a terrible sore was developing. had redness on her heels, as well, but this was not bad and is pretty normal, I think. You cannot miss a pressure sore. I cried when I saw it...it was horrible. 's feet were a bit beat up from the casts, too, so I understand what you mean about not knowing what to look for. 's big toes are abnormally curved so I think this is why she developed the sore on her toe. Good luck with the shoes!
