Guest guest
And kids are so smart...once they learn that if they cry enough, it will be just taken off, well than that's it, rough road ahead! Don't know what your doctor was thinking! If he said this to you, I would really wonder if he has been properly trained in the Ponseti method. I cannot imagine a Ponseti doctor saying this! Our doctor said that he does 10% of the work and we as parents keeping her in her brace do 90%, he is very humble imo, but bracing is just that important in this method. You should consider taking your little one to another (Ponseti) doctor to make sure his feet are OK, especially with him being out of the brace so much...if his feet wern't fully corrected or are starting to relapse, the brace will be uncomfortable on him! If it were me, I would want to KNOW that his feet were Fully corrected before I put him back into the brace full time. He IS going to put up a fuss and I think you really need to make sure that he is fussing because he thinks they will be taken off NOT fussing because he is in pain kwim?? And just so you know, our daughters foot does look 'perfect', really, only I can tell which one was clubbed. Your son should be able to get the same results...think you really need to get a 2nd opinion here!! just my 2 cents & Grace 16 mos unilateral rcf FAB 13 hrs > > Yikes, I would be worried about a few a week, that's like just wearing it 1/2 time, ya know? Once in a blue moon I let him take a break for a night, or remove it a little early if necessary but I'm too darn scared of relapse to be too lenient with it. > s. > > Re: Recurrence after DBB > > > That's hilarious! > > The doctor told us we were allowed to give him vacations from the > DBB. A few nights a month was okay. We have been abusing it. More > like a few nights a week. We'll stop now. >
