Guest guest
I'm on day 6 of upper and lower jaw surgery and noticed that several posters have been concerned about their bite being lined up with the splint. How can I tell if my lower jaw is matching the upper splint? My lower jaw has been moving around constantly. I'm eating out of a spoon now and can open my mouth halfway. I wear elastics in between meals. Considering the shifting of my lower jaw (first it was to the right, now it's almost centered but further back), I can't imagine my lower jaw is lining up. My doctor didn't mention anything today when replacing the first set of elastics, and I didn't think to ask. I'm a tad concerned about this... Guest guest
Ditto Yann, Noone ever told me about this moving jaw syndrome butI wasn't informed much except surgery wire 5 weeks. My lower was moved back and to the left and now it is too far back except when I stretch it out and clinchmy teeth. I know that is what elastics are for but at thispoint I can't imagine this ever feeling natural and when I talk or rest my jaw I feel a little like my jaw is too far back making my top teeth portrudea little horse like. I am only 6 weeks post op yesterday so who knows?
