I'm a little over 2 years post-op from open RNY. I lost 92 pounds (18 from goal) the 1st 12 months and then became pregnant. I lost A LOT of hair during the 1st year but it all came back during pregnancy. I am now 5 months out from my C Section and I am once again losing all of my hair. I am taking the same supps now that I was during pregnancy (prenat w/iron and omega3 f.a., vit E, biotin, calcium w/mag) but no protein. I've never done the protein supps...tried to...but they make me gag. I'm not kidding, I've tried several different brands but I literally cannot stand them...shakes or bars. I know this is why my hair is falling out, even though all my labs look good (during preg and as of 3 weeks ago). I'm scheduled for a hernia repair/TT at the end of August and I know I need to get myself in better shape or I'll be bald by the end of September. If anybody can suggest a protein supp that might be a little more palatable I would be SO grateful. BTW...I'm now 28 pounds from goal thanks to a pregnancy that was maybe a little healthier than it should have been LOL! Thanks for your help.
