Guest guest
A good resource for Spanish-language fotonovelas addressing domestic violence is Fotonovelas del Valle, based in Fresno, CA. They have produced a number of very good fotonovelas on this topic, with titles such as " El Abuso del que Nadie Habla, " " El Rostro del Dolor, " and " Amor Equivocado. " I have also seen a telenovela style video on this topic, but can't remember the title or who produced it. You can contact Fotonovelas del Valle at: Fermin Chavez 559-709-1063 fotonovelas@... Tue Jan 6, 2009 9:58 am (PST) During the next 18 months, the Rural Women's Health Project will be collaborating with the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Florida Legal Services to better understand violence within the farmworker community and to develop informational materials in the /fotonovela/ format to link victims to legal and shelter services through the state's 800 assistance line. We would be pleased to keep you informed of the findings. Additionally, the RWHP has worked on intimate partner violence issues with farmworker women and youth in order to develop materials that can be used for outreach and for teaching providers about the community's perspective on violence issues. Those materials are available. Also, we have worked with the Migrant Clinicians Network assisting them in describing the impact of male facilitated violence prevention education. Keep your eyes on the the MCN website for announcements of the publication of these articles. Rural Women's Health Project Gainesville, FL 352-372-1095 www.rwhp.org rwhp@...
