Guest guest
Hi all, I have been devouring information for days now trying to get ready for the next doctors appointment on Friday. I am borderline for the 40 BMI and do have co-morbidities. I keep questioning if I could figure a way to lose the weight would I do the surgery. I guess that means I am questioning whether I have really done all I can do to lose weight. What really makes the difference here? You all talk about how you do need to watch the sugar or refined carb intake, that after about 6 months you need to watch more what you are eating. If you could have developed the habits you have now after surgery would you have been able to not do the surgery? I am feeling depressed because I feel like I better eat more and more so that I can raise my weight to have a higher BMI. That seems like crazy thinking. I do think that will eventually happen anyway but at 47 my risk will just keep growing and growing. I know what surgery will entail as I have had major abdominal surgery before. It is not fun. Changed my life before and so I am concerned about that too. Of course, we hope the change is only for the better but I did loose muscle strength when I had the other surgery. I was only 35 at the time. Now I did recover fast from the lap gall bladder surgery I had in 98 so I know that is not quite as traumatic. Just swimming in emotions today. i
