Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Thank you for responding. After reading every ones response this morning I went to my binder and re-read alot of it.I remember what got me big and kept me big for 47 years.I stopped drinking my protein drinks and allowed a cookie here and there not to mention the taffy someone brought home. I never was a sugar person but that changed. I went and got my protein drinks again and will replace my snacks in the morning with that. I looked at some old pictures of me and my eyes got watery. I will not allow myself to lose control.I needed a wake up call.We can not take anything for granted. I remember the Dr. saying we are giving you a temporary tool.I want to thank you for replying to my cry for help. It means so much to me to know you are out there. I am now getting my cook books out and looking for new recipes. Thanks for getting me motivated. I am going to survive mentally and definitely physically. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I know that I am slow in posting a reply and I see that you have already gotten help - nonetheless I hope you don't mind my chiming in. One of the things I'm doing to counteract that snacking demon is a simple delaying technique that seems to keep me from that mindless munching. If I want something to eat and I think that it hasn't been long enough since I last ate for me to be truly hungry - then I get something to drink (non-caloric, of course) - at least 8 oz. - then I tell myself if I still want something 20 minutes after finishing my drink, then I can have something reasonable to eat. Most often, I'll get busy with something and completely lose that urge to splurge. Hope that helps.
