Guest guest
Feeling down today. In need of support. 8 months out, down 170 but fearful because I see old eating habits coming back. Sometimes I have no appetite, while other times I'm ravenous. Is there anyone out there that works out at Bally's San Leandro? Any help, emotional, motivational or a fellow walker would be appreciated.
Guest guest
Renell, I believe that what you are experiencing is quite normal. Recognize when you have those days when you have more of an appetite and see if there is a situation that is causing this swing in your apetite. It could be boredom, a little depressed, a little nervousness, etc. Make sure that you are getting in your water (at least 64 if you can) and that should sort of help with the hunger. Also, make sure that you are getting enough protein. That really helps with cravings. I drink the ProScore 100 Chocolate Pure Whey Stack by Champion Nutrion. KP Richmond does not recommend protein drinks but I drink them because they carry me, I feel good and I am less inclined to snack on things that are considered not so healthy and a no no. You will have days like that but just make sure that you keep a close eye on your scale so that if you do go on days where you are eating not so normal, you can get yourself back on track. Its so much easier to get off 2-3 pounds, even 5 instead of 15-20. So just be mindful and seek out support just as you have. I will be 1.5 years out on July 8th and its been a blast so far. I have days like that myself but the one thing I ask myself is: What am I benefiting from by eating the stuff that is not so healthy. Does it leave me feeling really satisfied? Actually, I don't feel satisfied and it causes me to want more and also it wipes me out. What I mean is I get very sleepy and that feeling last for at least 3 hours. So I tend to stay away from rice, potatoe, chips, crackers and instead I have those baby dill (sour)pickles because they are crunchy and they have no fat or calories. The only thing I have to watch is the sodium because I think they have about 300 mg of sodium so I will have two for the day and that helps with the need to crunch. You are not alone and we all experience this or at least a lot of us do. Be encouraged and you will be okay. Some people journal when things like that happen and it helps them. I do a lot of self talk and that helps me. Hang in there. Pam Marsh PS: Congrats! --- Renell wrote: > Feeling down today. Guest guest
Hi Renell, I am also in San Leandro - but I've never been to Bally's. 24 Hour Fitness is my gym of choice. When and where do you usually walk? Walking isn't my strongest suit, however since my knee surgery I have been walking more and more. I can empathize about the old habits creeping back. I am two and a half years post-op and, yes, I have times when the old ways resurface. I was a "gym rat" for most of the time since I've been post-op, but I am having trouble re-establishing that habit since my latest surgery. Hope to hear from you. Maybe we can get together and give each other a motivational boost. BTW do you go to the San Leandro support group? Take care, Kay (in San Leandro) open RNY 12/1/03 Renell wrote: Feeling down today.
