Hi all,

It's been a while since I've checked in due to a lot of life's craziness on my end, but I'm now down 100 lbs. since my orientation weight a year ago. Mother Earth is breathing a sigh of relief.

Cecilia- thanks so much for putting your experience & fears out there. I'm only 5 months out but can see myself slipping. Another gal told me she had no trouble with sweets and it was like the little gremlin in my psyche got permission to scarf down candy in those lonely times in the late pm. Thanks to you I can see this is the start of a really bad path that's only going to get more treacherous as the weeks tick by, and that I have to take and Laurie's advice (as well as the rest of you wise ones) and use all the strategies to nip it in the bud.

For me this includes the South Beach Diet (they have great recipes for getting carb-addict free for the first 2 weeks to tame that carb-hungry monster.), affirmations, both written and spoken, replacing the eating with a more positive activity, keeping up with/increasing my exercise and anything else:a "wish journal" in the bathroom to check daily?.

So, gl to Cecilia (we're rooting for you, not the carb monster to win), Jenni (I only know those who've had gall bladder removed at the same time as gastric bypass surgery, so hopefully, the surgeons can just go in once if you plead your case for them to schedule it together), Rob (sorry this isn't the group for you, but there are usually 25 posts or more each day, so maybe only the shy folks were on then to account for no response) and (hope your date comes soon).

Most of all, thanks for you all being there over the years of my on-again/off-again peekings and postings.

Joyce

Joyce - Congrats on the 100 lbs. I am also 5 months out and still

have 4 lbs to go to enter the ONEderlnad. But I'll get there. Don't

be such a stranger, pop in and say HI. Let us know how you are doing.

Joyce; congrats on your 100 lbs gone and thanks for mentioning the South Beach Diet to get started with no carb thingy I forgot about that I have already cleaned out my kitchen this afternoon my husband is having a cow or something the neighbors down the street are happy but it's all gone now so I start the SB Diet tomorrow just have to go to the store and I will start this carb addiction buster way of eating. Then it's back to the basics I'm getting rid of the carbs for good this time.Keep up the weight loss and take care, T New Message
