Guest guest
Kerry, congrats. Its so amazing when I hear people talk about losing more than 200 pounds with this surgery. I recall when I went to my orientation, the surgeon that was speaking said that the most a person would lose was 100-200 pounds. Just goes to show that you can press past that mark. Thanks for the info. I think you are new so I would like to say welcome to the group. Pam Marsh --- kerry wrote: > HI > > I'm often asked. Guest guest
Kerry I so agree with you, and looking at the positives, even when things go wrong. Like when my son had his motorcycle accident, he broke his clavicle bone, totaled his bike that just got paid off, didn't have full coverage insurance, but I was so thankful he was alive. In my life there's been so many hardships way worse than this, but I always look for the good, laugh out loud, sing as no one hears you, dance as no on is watching, love as though you never been hurt, love yourself as well, smile and look for the good in all, what a beautiful life to enjoy and you can make it through anything. Here's a smile to you. Take care. Donna Jkerry wrote: HI I'm often asked. Guest guest
Kerry, you are such a big inspiration to me. You are right too... it's a fight... evry minute, every hour and every day. I've been fighting this fight for 3 years now (at least I've been in this program that long) and am so much closer to goal (of getting a surgery date) than I ever have been. I weighed in at Kaiser Napa today and was 437. Wednesday, I'll have another official weigh-in at KP Richmond and hope to be at or below 435. At 399, I SHOULD get a date. Thanks Kerry, for sharing some of your story. I look forward to to conversing with you more. Ron My keys to my weight loss HII'm often asked. Guest guest
Actually Pam, 435 is just a personal "immediate" goal (for Wed, July 12). Today I was 437 and if all goes well, I'll meet or surpass 435 by Wed.. My goal weight for surgery is 399. I was told they don't do surgery on anyone over 400 (at least not anymore - assuming they did it on Kerry). But I've been doing amazingly well and even surprise myself. Heck, at this rate I could be at goal by the end of summer... wouldn't that be a hoot!? Yeah BABY! Ron My> keys to my weight loss> > > HI> > I'm often asked. Guest guest
Ron, I know you can do it! It's entirely possible that we'll end up being surgery " twins " at this rate; if I don't make my goal by 7/28 then I'm certain that I can make it by mid-August. So keep pushing, friend - we'll both get there eventually! Cathy C. > > Actually Pam, 435 is just a personal " immediate " goal (for Wed, July 12). Guest guest
Jazz, that is about what I consume daily but I think mines might be closer to 600. I have three to four protein drinks each 130 calories (520 for four) and then some chicken or turkey for dinner and that does it for me. Every now and then, on the weekend, if we go out, I will eat out and I won't do but about one or maybe two protein drinks. I have been fortunate not to have any regain yet but the time is still yet young since I am only a year and five months post op. I can't complain though, life is great.
