Guest guest
RobynnI have a daycare family who went through this, Rick from United States, married from Mexico. Rick had 1 child, 2 children she was here illegally. Then they decided to make it all right. When Rick married they were all one happy family, then they filled papers and went to Mexico to get her visa for the States. She was turned down, she had to stay in Mexico. The 2 children where given visa and received citizenship right away. Rick came back with all the children, had to stay in Mexico. They said it would be 9 months or longer to get a visa. Rick hired a immigration lawyer, and started writing letters to Senators, Governor anyone and everyone in office, he received lots of letters back. It was hardship letter on how bad the children were doing without their mother, the process really speed up when some of these officials got involved. was back in the states in 3 months and is now a citizen. Has taken her driver test and past. Is in college, works and pays taxes. Loves the United States, has learned to speak English really pretty good, she is giving it her all. A happy ending to another love story. Not sure this would help, but the hardship letters really did help. Take care. You're in my prayers for everything. Donna JRobynn VanPatten wrote: Hey Laurie... Unfortunately, he isn't here yet. He was here for 3 months on a tourist visa waiver, and then he had to leave in mid-April. We met up in New York for a long weekend over Memorial Day (May 25-30), and I just got back from a three week vacation over in France with him (June 29-July 18.) We are trying to figure out the next steps...they are a little complicated for immigration purposes... Essentially, if we get married over in France, I petition to request that he can come over because he is my husband. We have absolutely NO idea how long that takes...it depends upon the bureaucrats. He can't visit here in the meantime. Essentially, by going that route, he may not even be able to come for the birth. Another option is to apply for a fiance visa, where he can come over and we have to get married within three months. That is supposed to be faster, but California is backlogged and it can take up to 6 to 9 months because of the backlog...and you reallly don't have access to the people to beg them to speed it up...although I suppose we could add additional documents like letters from my doctors saying I really need him to come ASAP...but who knows if that will make a difference. And again, there is risk that he couldn't come to visit after the application has been made...he could be turned away at the border during the pending visa. So...we're trying to figure out the best approach. It isn't easy...please send positive thoughts and prayers our way as we try to figure this all out. Guest guest
Robynn, wow, what a lot of red tape. I hope it goes quickly and smoothly for you. As quickly as possible, that is. My neice married a Frenchman, and although he was here as a student, I remember the trouble they went through with green card stuff. Seems that they had a lawyer and had to go to Chicago occasionally. I don't really remember the what-for's anymore. They have been together for eight or nine years now. Anyway, sorry for rambling, and best of luck to you. Laurie __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Ok MR. DELUSIONAL!!!! Give yourself some credit, for Pete's sake!!! You've lost nearly 140 lbs. already...and yes, I know you lost a lot of that pre=surgery...but your poor body had to recover from the two surgeries...and you had your surgery when...wasn't it just a couple of months ago? I'd say you are doing AMAZINGLY WELL!!!!! Yahoo yahoo yahoo!!!!! I mean, you are kind of a big guy...aren't you getting close to goal? Wow, wow, wow...I'm so proud of you (sorry for the joke slams in the beginning, I know you aren't really delusional...but it is funny how we get so eager to lose quickly that we don't stop and think, uh...HELLO...we've lost 60 lbs. in three months...or whatever. Are you able to exercise, or are you still too tired. I struggled with anemia in the beginning, so I understand what you are talking about. One day, you'll wake up, and you'll start to feel great. The fatigue will be gone, you'll be light on your feet, ready to tackle the world. Bit by bit, you'll be able to eat some more, and you'll feel more vibrant again. But in the meantime, stick to your guns...get the last few lbs. off (what is your goal?), and hopefully, you'll be able to get some exercise in. Just think, you're going to have to downsize your waders!!!! So proud of you, my friend...so happy for you!! Guest guest
hahahahaha....LOL. You are verrrrry funny Robynn. That's one of the things I like about you. I'm not worried about the weight loss but I do worry about being tired all the time. My labs check out OK so it's probably my pain medication and the rebuilding process at work. Doctor Baggs set my goal weight at 175# so I only have 6 pounds to get there and I know it will happen in due time. As far as exercising.....well....I've totally lost my focus on that one. I was going to the gym everyday at 0430 and walking my treadmill every night but the gym went out the window when I couldn't sleep all night and for some reason I can't get myself to walk when I get home at night. Yes I have been blaming it on being too tired and I know that's partly an excuse but I'm working up to it again. I've been this way all my life, I'll exercise like crazy for about a year then take a little time off. I just need to get motivated again and like I said, I'm working on it. Take care of yourself and those growing little babies. I had two boys, two girls and one vasectomy so I know you are in for a wild ride. Guest guest
BabY, not babies. Yikes, I'm freaked enough without thinking about twins?!?!!! Hee hee. As for the exercise thing, I went through that too, because of fatigue. Here's what I suggest. Get a personal trainer once a week at the gym. That way, you know you'll get there at least once a week. After a few weeks, when you are " back on the wagon " , you'll be able to do it yourself. Do it for after work, because 4:30 is so early, it's easier to blow it off. You've done terrifically well! Keep it up! Robynn --- Gordy wrote: > hahahahaha....LOL. You are verrrrry funny Robynn. > That's one of the > things I like about you. Guest guest
Robynn, What wonderful news! Congratulations! My OB down here in Santa Clara tells me that she has three different patients who are posties for WLS who have had successful pregnancies, and I would suspect that there are lots of other GYNs in Kaiser who are similar. You sound like you're doing really well, and I know you'll be absolutely wonderful as a mother. Don't stress too much about weight gain. 15 to 25 lbs sounds like a lot when you've gone through so much to lose it, but if you nurse the baby and keep up your exercise you shouldn't have any problem losing it afterwards. I lost my entire, 55-lb. pregnancy weight gain by the time my first daughter was 3 months old. However, if you don't, then be sure to have your doctor check your thyroid at about 3-6 months postpartum. It's not at all uncommon for new mothers in their late 30's or older to have a thyroid " crash " following pregnancy, and one of the early clues can be not losing the weight or gaining some of it back after losing it. That also happened to me - after losing all 55 lbs I gained back 20 before my doctor figured out what was going on. Cathy C.
Guest guest
Thanks for the information (and congratulations) Cathy...I'll keep that in mind!
