I am 5.5 with a BMI of 49-high blood pressure and from the last test that my PCP ordered, it looks like High Colesteral too. I am not shocked. I weighed in at my PCP visit at 304lbs. I knew it was high but was very shocked to find it beyond the 300 pound mark. My PCP has told me to start losing weight and I have lost 15 pounds so far. I have a nutrition appt and also a appt with the physc Dr. for August. Then back to my PCP for the referral. I really appreciate the chance to join your support group. I have done alot of research and dont have any questions at the moment...reading all the message boards keep me well informed. Guest guest
Hi Ron, Thanks to you and everyone else here who has so kindly welcomed me to the support group! I am so happy that you are approaching your goal..makes the wait worth it. I apologize to the group for not mentioning my location. I live in Sacramento. I am a Single mom of 2, a daughter who is now a new adult and my son who is entering high school. I commute to Vacaville everyday for work and became interested when I watched another woman go through it. I didnt realize the timeframe, because it goes by so fast. I also didnt realize all the testing. My PCP did mention that I would go to SSF for the surgery. So nice to meet you Ron! Barb > > Hi Barbara and welcome! Guest guest
Welcome aboard, Barbara. My name is Robynn, and I have also been here for quite some time. I had my surgery on June 8th of last year, so it's been just over a year. Started out at 261.5, had the surgery at 235.5, and now am at 155 (and I'm 11 weeks pregnant). You'll find this is a very supportive place. bring any question, no matter how silly you think it is... Robynn --- BBQ Man wrote: > Hi Barbara and welcome!
