Jenn - I just saw my bariatric surgeon on July 5th and he confirmed

that BMI of 40 and over qualifies without any comorbidities.

I am going through the Richmond Bariatric Program with Kaiser. My

PCP wasn't sure of the requirements earlier this year but went ahead

and submitted the referral. I was approved right away. I've lost

my 10% (for Richmond - typically each patient needs to lose 10%

before surgery) and now have surgery scheduled for August 7th.

Also, Kaiser Nurse from the Kp.org message board has confirmed

the qualification requirements a few times over the last couple of

months.

I hope this helps you out.

Sue from Vacaville

Height: 5'7 "

Orientation Weight: 276

Current Weight: 241.0

Presurgery Goal Weight: 248 (= 10% of Orientation Weight)

Surgery Date: August 7, 2006

Surgeon: Dr. Baags from Richmond
