Guest guest
Hi Kim,My daughter, Mackenzie just got her DOCband on Wednesday from CT in Charlotte. We were told to let her wear it all of the time but to check it every three of four hours for red marks. If there were red marks then keep the band off until they disappeared and if the red marks lasted longer than 1 hour to leave the band off and call them and let them know about it. Mackenzie has done fine with wearing her band in the car, etc. She has not really seemed to be bothered by it at all, but she is kind of an unusually happy baby, so I may not be the best case to go by. I have noticed that the band seems to slide forward, just slightly, sometimes when she is in her car seat. Good luck on Friday. Maybe we will run in to one another at CT one day.Amy - Mackenzie (9 months, 2 days in DOCband) Amy ConnollyK9 Command, Inc.Vale, North CarolinaIACP #2623E-Touch/Force-Free certified trainerAKC CGC evaluatorwww.k9command.comwww.k9commandinc.blogspot.com On May 1, 2009, at 8:39 PM, K S wrote:I just have a question for you all!! We will be driving the 3 1/2 hours up to CT in Charlotte next Friday for Miss. Mia to be fitted with her band. And since we'll already be headed in the direction to our next duty station (Norfolk, VA), we're planning to continue driving after her appointment so that we can be in VA that weekend to look at houses. And then we'll be driving back either overnight Saturday or Sunday night, depending on how quickly we can view a few dozen houses (oy!!). My question is, how much time will she be in the band for that first day, or first few days? Will she be more uncomfortable in her car seat in it? If so, is there any way to make her more comfortable with the band on in her seat? I'm just not sure if it will be awkward for her to sit/lay comfortably in the car. Ideally, I would rather just come home - but we really don't have a choice and it makes more sense to head up there while we're already on the way! Thanks in advance!
