Guest guest
le, are you talking about Dr. Riggs at St. vincents Hospital, if so, what did you think of him, and do you think he is very educated about RSS? I saw him, and just didn't know. If this is the right Dr., do you have trouble with Dr. Escobar's office returning calls? If you are talking about different Doctors, disregard this message. Thanks, le mom to Datreon, RSS, 14months, 15lb 9oz, periactin, tubes, assymetry
Guest guest
le, I felt the same way about Dr. Riggs, he told me that he thought that RSS was common, and it kind of threw me off. I don't know, let me know if Dr. Escobar gives another endo that would be good. He is great, I really like him, but not his office. I am having to fight them about everything it seems like. Where are you from? Thanks and I'll talk to you soon. le mom to Datreon
Guest guest
Hi le, Those are the exact doc's I was talking about. I am still on the fence about Dr. Riggs. He hasn't done anything terribly wrong, but he hasn't done anything to impress me either. I know there is another family on here that had a horrible experience with him, but there is also a family here that seen him for the first time last week and they were very happy with him. I am going to talk to Dr. Escobar when we see him in a couple of weeks and see what he thinks, but I do believe that I will be finding a new endo. I feel like he gives me unsure answers. Either he doesn't explain himself well in laymen's terms or he just doesn't know the answers. I don't feel like he is very confident. I'm also not happy with the measurements they take in his office and he doesn't seem to be concerned about the inaccuracies. I'm not sure how many RSS patients he has had in the past and I'm not sure how much he understands RSS. I'm just not real sure in general about him and that is my biggest concern. I usually know after the first appointment if I'm going to be happy with a doc or not. As for Dr. Escobar, I LOVE HIM!!! He is the best doc I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with in any way. He has truly been the saving grace in Coby's life. I have not had to fight him on any of Dr. H's protocols because he follows most very closely. Like Dr. H, I feel that Dr. Escobar deals with the " whole " child as well. I can ask him about any part of Coby and he can answer or lead me in the right direction to get the correct answer. As for his office, I don't deal with them much. I've never been very impressed with his nurses, so I don't ever talk to them. If I have a question for him, I e-mail him and he answers me very quickly. When I do have to call the office I always ask for Meadow. She was our genetic counselor. I don't know that it is her job to deal with me, but we have always had a bond so I use that to my advantage. Hint: If you e-mail Dr. Escobar you can only ask him one or two questions or he doesn't remember to answer each question….hehehe. Meadow says he does it with her in e-mail as well. Let me know if I can help with anything else, le, mom to: Shye almost 10, Brock 8, and Coby (RSS) & Carlee Terrible 2's!!!
