Guest guest
I don't normally post, but I do have a question that perhaps someone in this group can help me with. My son is 5 1/2 and been doing GHT for one year. In that amount of time, he has grown 4 1/2 inches. He is now 39 inches tall. We are very pleased with the results of the GHT. Today, our endo told us to think about doing a short course of testosterone therapy for our son. He said that our son has a microphallus, or abnormally small penis. Has anyone here done this or do they know anything about it? My concern is that testosterone would make puberty come quicker, and I know that is not good, especailly since RSS kids sometimes can start puberty early. We saw Dr. H this past April, and she never mentioned anything to me about doing this type of therapy. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge about this?? Thanks for your help. -Amy Mom to on (RSS) age 5 1/2 and Hannah (non-RSS), age 18 months
Guest guest
Amy - I might recommend that you call MAGIC and ask if you can talk to the consultant for Genital and Reproductive Anomalies. She has knowledge in this area, I believe. I know that testorone cream has been successfully used for microphallus. Also, I believe that another disorder in MAGIC also has microphallis. Again, Ellen at MAGIC would know. Call them at 800-3MAGIC3.
