Guest guest
Howdy Folks, here in Virginia. Well life has been interesting lately with Connor. I can honestly say that the two year old growth spurt is over and the resulting decrease in appetite has gotten me to pull my hair again. Connor has gotten extremely resistantt to taking his meds properly. Zantac, prevacid and Periactin are getting sprayed all over me. It started one day and I can't figure it out. His appetite is back down to two bottles a day and about 1/2 cup of food. Plus, all he wasnts is sugar. Fudge, cookies, cereal, pudding, etc. I've been making bacon and eggs for him, a past favorite and he won't touch it. Lunchables are being ignored. Hamburgers get tossed around the back seat. It's back to the old routines of monitoring, fussing, " Yes YOU HAVE TO EAT BEFORE PLAYING AGAIN! " Alright moms. How do you handle the terrible two's and RSS together? Update on the baby with brain tumor. Not good. The chemo therapy has made him blind. He has a blood clot in his brain plus the tumor is growing inside the brain now. Any prayers sent their way would be deeply appreciated. The baby is Dante. We start ght in February. We also finally got the right people to talk to the dept. of Social Services here. Connor qualifies for the E & D waiver in the State of Virginia. We are waiting (again) on the health dept. to do an assesment on him. Next step is Medicaid. Then SSI. It's a long, excruciating and frustrating process, but it does pay to be persistent. I have found that bribes of fudge to the right departments help also (wink). So many people are suckers for good, gourmet chocolate!!!! Ummm, this is kind of personal and if you don't want to answer on it, fine. How much are the Pediatric Endocrinologist visit's running for you all? When blood work, x-rays and dr. visits were talleid up, it was nearly 1,000.00. Is that normal? It's been the most expensive dr. so far, even compared to the geneitc blood work.. The thing is, my insurance will not cover their total fees. So, the break down is more like 50-50 when all is said and done. I don't mean to be ungrateful, but I'm not working and have got to figure out a way to handle this. Any suggestions? Connor is just a delight. He's alos a heart attack every day. In fact, right now he's jumping off the bed, landing and rolling. That big head of his just seems to end up not getting hurt, but I know we are just one fall away from stiches....again! Graham my oldest has been the e.r. kid lately. Sprained ankle, strep throat and crashing in a leaf pile which required stiches on his forehead....the day before the Christmas picture. Sheesh! Yeah, like I have three boys and they are all boy too! Got to go make some Christmas fudge for the family in Oregon and Arizona. Take Care and God Bless! Guest guest
, I remember dealing with the terrible twos and RSS. For us, that was when we finally caved in and put in the gtube. just would not (or could not) eat enough without it. Good luck! As for the ped endo, we see Dr H which is completely covered for us. Have you spoken to the doctor in question about giving you a break with the cost? When I saw a hand specialist a few years ago, he cut some money off his price because he wasn't covered under my insurance. You never know until you try. Please keep us posted, Judith, Steve, (RSS, gtube, zantac, prilosec, periactin, gh, miralex) and (non RSS with her own issues) 4 3/4 year old twins
