Guest guest
I had to tell you a neat story. A family from southern california was recommended to me via a local endo. The nanny was the one who called me - and I drove with one afternoon to meet with her. Long story, but essentially she is the one driving the child's care; dad works a lot, and mom is in pretty much denial. We spent more than an hour going over all the most important things to concentrate on right now (child was a year old). What concerned me most was that the child was throwing up after almost every meal. GI recommendation obviously; told them about Zantac as first line of defense, etc. Nanny called me tonight. 15 month old child started Zantac and has not thrown up since!!!! I told her how lucky she was that a simple med like Zantac stopped the vomiting, as so many of you have had to try multiple options.... Child has gained a pound in the last month already. I hope Dad and Mom come around, but for now she has a devoted nanny doing everything she can for this child. It made me feel good that what we do, all of us with MAGIC and this listserve, literally saves some children!!!! What if there wasn't MAGIC? There would be a listserve but probably not a lot of medical information; no convention, etc. It made me feel really honored. Anyway, just had to tell you about this child who fell into my life. Guest guest
Jen, I am not a really big believer in miracles and such, but at this time of year it is hard not to be. Your story is one of many that I have heard. It is amazing how we have been brought together and indicative of what having a child with RSS has taught us and shown us and how it has made us better people. What a great feeling you must have! Jodi Z Wow - being so sick has really helped me keep up with the listserve. I sleep all day and then can't sleep at night and can really keep up with what is going on. (But I do miss school.....)
