I havent posted for several weeks. we are up to speed with the Periactin, just reached the top of the taper schedule last week. And.. no more appetite. In fact, has stopped eating at school at all. We are starting to withhold GameBoy if he doesnt eat anything. He hasnt gained anything, in fact, I think he lost. I know we shouldn't struggle and fight about food. But it does get scarey sometimes. I was glad to hear that one list serve member with RSS (I apologize for forgetting your name) who said she could remember the day when she was 9 years old and was hungry. I don't believe that ever experienced hunger until he was on growth hormone. but this is a long winded way of saying, used to be on Reglan but we ran out, stopped going to the same GI and his pediatrician stopped it because of side effects she has had with kids. What else works for the motility delay? Psst! That was me <wink>. Actually, I was 7. I never felt that feeling before and don't think I felt it again until I was a teenager (when my appetite started to normalize a bit). I have no idea why my hunger " worked " that one night in my childhood. For what it's worth, my mother also used to try the " you can't do such-and-such " until you've eaten " such-and-such. " It didn't help much because I just wasn't hungry and didn't want all those icky things in my mouth. So I sat at the kitchen table a lot, with food " stored " in my cheeks, like a hamster. Her behavior just lead to power struggles and I'm sure that my " control freak " tendencies sprouted, at least partially, from that. So be careful with that.
