Guest guest
I have asked this question before, but evidently I am still confused. We will be seeing Dr. H on 12/29, and I want to be sure I am clear on this topic before seeing her. She likes RSS children to be in the 10-25 percentile weight for height. The growth charts on the CDC site only go up so high (to 48 " ). is off the charts now, so I can't use these. At 11 years old, he is 47 lbs. and 51 " . He is just under the 3rd percentile for height and way under the 3rd percentile for weight for his age. His doctors here say he is malnourished, and by looking at him, I tend to agree with them. They think his percentile for weight should match the percentile for height. If that were true, he would need to gain 10 lbs. Dr. H didn't seem to be concerned with his weight at the last few visits. She thought he looked good. He also hasn't done very well on GH over the past year and a half, and I am starting to wonder if his low weight is impeding his growth. Is that possible? Any light anyone can shed on this topic for me would be appreciated! Kim C.
Guest guest
Hi Kim, You are correct. Dr H does like the children to be between the 10% and 25% percentile weight for height. I cannot locate a chart for this that goes higher than 48 inches either. Good luck when you see Dr H.
