Guest guest
Sharon - Yes, that is Jonas. I know that the year prior, the RSS adult women (about 7 of them) had a blast at the dinner -- so I think that last year was a hiccup. But the reason I encourage someone to talk to Jonas isn't to get a warm and fuzzy, but to find out what steps might be taken to establish an RSS Adult group. Jonas is the one that started the GHD adult group. He is the one that put together all the affected adult stuff at prior conventions, and in the last 2 years, we just asked if we could " tag along. " Right now, we have less than 10 adult RSS members out of roughly 300+ members in the RSS/SGA division..... And if I recall correctly, 6 of those members became members only to attend the convention. So we had 4 adult members prior. Clearly, it is an area we can grow. We just need someone to take ownership to grow it. It doesn't have to take a lot of time. My volunteer job with MAGIC right now is for the entire RSS/SGA division, and I spend about 5-8 hours a week, depending on the month and what deadlines there are. Katy spends another 5-8 hours a week on the phone and email with families. Hope this helps explain a bit more -- crossing my fingers that someone wants to take on the RSS Adults group! It doesn't have to be an RSS adult -- it could be a parent of a teenager???? > > - > > Jonas...is he the guy who I told you about, who, at the adults' dinner who was trying to > disconnect the microphone in front of everybody, so I wouldn't have to use the tall > podium?
