There's a letter from Cento in our library.... but yeah, your experience

is why I keep harping on " make your own. "

If I were using canned tomato sauce, I wouldn't use one which had added

garlic or basil or whatever in it. This is where it gets sticky. CENTO

may not have added anything, but there could be something in the

seasonings which is a problem.

There's a REASON why processed food isn't legal.....

Sure hope you feel better soon!

I didn't like Centos but I like San Marzano.  It's at WF.  I couldn't eat tomato anything for a long time (doesn't mean you can't but sometimes it takes longer for certain foods).

Maybe try steaming, peeling fresh tomatoes and eat only a little at a time.  I don't know that canned are considered 'legal'.  I like to throw in a carton of grape tomato also since they are sweet and Roma tomatoes don't seem as acidic.

Feel better.

So I made the zuchinni lasagna using a toamtoe sauce from CENTO that said tomatoes, olive oil, salt, garlic, basil - I thought CENTO was safe as italian companies have to list all their ingredients by law and that all seemed legal to me. NO sugar to be found. Also, I peeled the zuchinni and have eaten it many times before. Anyways - sick as a dog all night and only recently stopped the runs to the bathroom. WOW. So I guess using a store bought sauce will never ever work?? - or is it because it has seeds in it and I am not ready for those?? I have used tomatoe juice for making ketchup and did fine with that. Hmmmm......

There's another thing to consider about any brand of canned

tomatoes. I've read that whether you have a tomato allergy, are

nightshade sensitive or none of the above, the acid of the tomatoes

can dissolve things from the can that you may not get along with. Of

course the cans are supposed to be coated, but I gather this isn't

always 100%. I know I can't handle anything in cans.

But could you have eaten something else that you reacted to?n  ______________________________A funny, touching gift book for cat lovers. But could you have eaten something else that you reacted to?Yeah - I've used that and the Muir Glenn Tomatoes without reacting. At this point, I think of it as like most other things that areperfectly legal that some people react to from extra-sensitivity - but I also get the plain ones. Mara
