Guest guest
Hi, Emerence had her 2 year checkup tonight...I really had a goal of her hitting 20 lbs by 2 years but she is still 19 lb 11 oz. Her height, which the dr and I both think could be off (laying down on paper) is 31 " which all of a sudden puts her at 3% for height. HOWEVER, the weight didn't really move over the past 2 months. DR. H told us last summer to try and keep her at 15% height for weight but now we are at 3% ht/wt. And she is an eater. We'll confirm at the endo's next week. Unfortunately, one of her ear tubes also seems to be coming out again - she just had an ear infection last week and the dr. thinks it is extruding. SIGH. We see the ENT in 2 weeks so we will pursue this then. We might be up for her 3rd set of tubes... The dr. got her DVDs and actually had a high school student working with her (who wants to be a dr.) and is taking the dvds home to study! Wow! Also, I made 10 copies of the convention info and left them with her and she has sevearl patients who she can recommend this to and knows several of the other drs. have kids with other MAGIC syndromes. I have also emailed the info to Emme's other drs. to have on hand. Have a good night! , mom to 5 and Emerence, 2, 19 lb 11 oz, 31 " ? Guest guest
I know the feeling...Dalia had a checkup a while back where she hadn't gained anything in like 1.5 months...so then we started Periactin and it made a huge difference up front. I had to stop it for a week and then start it up again because it wears off and you have to give it a break. This was our experience. Anyway, hang in there, it will get better. Don't you just look at her though and think how smart and cute she is. That helps for me with Dalia. Guest guest
- So sorry your appt did turn out as expected. I hoped Pippin would be 20lbs by age to but were stuck at 18lbs. I just keep thinking about how much I'm saving on diapers! I'll never have to buy size 6 or probably even size 5 I hope your next appt at the endo goes better. Hang in there! What a great idea about copying convention info to doctors...I'm going to do that and send it to Pip's endo. I can't believe that there isn't another RSS family more local. Guest guest
I know, I just thought, hoped, prayed, 20 seems like such a big goal to accomplish! How is Pippin doing on potty training or is she already done? We sat at the same bingo table so I remember that Pippin is a bit older. , mom to 5 and Emerence 2, SGA, poss mild RSS, 19 lb 11 oz, 31 " > > - > > So sorry your appt did turn out as expected.
