It makes me not want to leave the house until next spring. Do you think we definetly need to get the shot? How about the regular flu shot? I'm so confused and concerned. Recently, I have had an influx of moths in my house. I think they would be considered pantry moths, so I have used all types of sprays and cleaners to try to get rid of them. In the meantime I've noticed that I've been breathing a little harder. Do you think this may have effected my health? Another problem that I anticipate is that in my area (Philadelphia) we have been infested with Stink Bugs. I was told no type of bug spray kills them. You have to use a combination of Ammonia and water and wash down the areas where they come in. In my case they come in through the windows but I don't know how. My concern once again is that I need to use something that can effect my breathing. All of this is too much. I believe it was Jerry that said he is getting tired of doctors and I'm just getting tired overall. I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks group! Guest guest
Get help and have someone else use the cleaners and chemicals. I have IPF and I tried to clean up my house after a sump-pump failure. The more chemicals I used or were used by contractors--the more senitive I became to the point of needing ten days to overcome from overall weakness. Guest guest
Be very careful of all cleaners and chemicals used in your homes. Most of us have greatly heightened sensitivities, although many of these are dangerous even to healthy persons. In my case they have to not contain strong chemicals but also be fragrance free. There are some web sites with extensive information on safe products. > > > >From: Adrienne Bishop eggie5909 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> > >Subject: H1N1, Household cleaners and sprays > >To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > >Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2009, 10:33 PM > > > > > > > >I don't know how to take all this info about the H1N1. Guest guest
Good Advice. Thanks AB Subject: Re: H1N1, Household cleaners and spraysTo: Breathe-Support Date: Wednesday, September 16, 2009, 8:00 AM Adrienne, We all understand about feeling tired of doctors. There are times when I feel like life is one long doctors appointment! LOL But seriously I can't recommend highly enough that you get the regular seasonal flu shot, the H1N1 vaccine and in addition make sure your pneumonia vaccine is up to date. You should have that one every 5 years. My feeling is that I need to do everything possible to prevent becoming ill and the vaccines are part of that. Heck I'm getting the H1N1 shot and I've already had H1N1. I spent 4 days in the hospital in May with it. But the doctors want me to have the vaccine anyway to increase the chances I'll be immune the next time I'm exposed to it. So get the shots, eat well, get lots of rest, wash your hands alot and avoid people who are obviously ill. There are no guarantees but we can lower our risk! Guest guest
, Thanks for the suggestion about getting help. My friends tell me the same thing however when I ask if they know any people who could help, it is usually, "I'll get back to you". I have had friends help me in terms of throwing out things or boxing up things, but I know no one wants to help with the cleaning which is the hardest part. I continue on perhaps with a mask until I get some assistance.
