Guest guest
Lis, The ATEC is a treatment evaluation and is best if done on a regular basis. Say once a month and then plot your results. It's also best if done by the same person each time. You and your spouse may end up with very different scores. Your child's teacher may get a different score as well. Plot the results of each concurrently. If the trend is the same, you know you're getting good feedback. It's simply a tool to quantify the success (or failure) of your child's treatment. My son's baseline ATEC was nearly 90. Now, about two years later, he's down in the low 40's. Pat in Ohio
Guest guest
Lis: Biaxin is not GFCF, our pharmacist contacted the manufacturer months ago and they stated they could not guarantee that it is GFCF. Also, I would give your child a Pepcid AC for the next several days. You might want to go to a compound pharmacy next time to get an antibiotic made. Sorry to say but sometimes the manufacturers don't truly believe and understand the situation. My pharmacist told them it is a 911 emergency and they stated not GFCF. My son has Celiac's Disease so we must really be careful. Hope life gets better.

I worked with this pharmacy for well over an hour, trying to find an antibiotic that was gfcf, yet agreeable to the doctor as well. Calls were made to manufacturers, etc. -- I didn't just accept a quick reading of the ingredients to mean gfcf. I really hate how I can't trust *any* info. We've been following his abx dose with his acidophilus 2 hours later, and he's settling down. He's getting upset, but not violent. >You might want to go to a compound pharmacy next time to get an >antibiotic made. How can I find one of these? I doubt there is one near here, as I live in the middle of nowhere. > Hope life gets better. Thanks! Having 3 children with whooping cough is no fun! We can't go out in public til the last one is finished with his abx (another week). But I'll tell you, the cases these unvaxxed children have are a lot milder than the case my oldest and fully vaxxed child had. LIs
